Fasst Products, LLC launches new non-toxic Fire Ant Repellent for Electrical Panels

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — January 21, 2008 — Fasst Products, LLC a manufacturer of environmentally friendly insect repellant products, announced the immediate availability of Kleer-Out™ and Keep-Out™, enabling companies to safely repel Fire Ants from electrical enclosures. Fasst Products Marketing Director, Mike Friend, stated, "Our new Fire Ant repellent products are based on a University of Florida patented, non-toxic, geraniol based technology. The products are formulated and designed to be effective for at least a year in the heat and moisture conditions found in outdoor electrical enclosures."
Kleer-Out™ and Keep-Out™ were developed in direct response to requests from field service personnel who did not feel comfortable when required to use potentially toxic insecticides that are not approved for use in electric enclosures. The potential danger of insecticide use to personnel and to the environment is a growing concern for many utilities and corporations.
The use of Geraniol as a Fire Ant Repellent was discovered, researched, and patented by Dr. Jerry Butler, Professor Emeritus, University of Florida Department of Entomology. Dr. Butler stated that his research has shown geraniol “to be an effective repellent on a number of insect species, including fire ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches, and horn flies”. Patents held by the University are licensed exclusively by Fasst Products. All ingredients in both products are from the EPA 25b Exempt List of Active and Inert Ingredients and are GRAS (Generally Considered as Safe) for public use. Kleer-Out™ and Keep-Out™ are considered “GREEN PRODUCTS” and provide users with the confidence of using an effective and environmentally safe product.
Field test applications have proven that the products, when used in combination, will drive Fire Ants out of an electrical panel and keep them out for up to one year in a three cubic foot enclosure. While the patent is specifically for fire ants, field testing has revealed that the products also work equally well for several other varieties of ants. Kleer-Out™ is a porous packet of geraniol impregnated pellets that produces a rapid buildup of repellent vapor to quickly repel fire ants from the enclosure. Keep-Out™ is a solid block, with patent pending technology, that produces a controlled release of the repellent for up to a full year.

Availability
Kleer-Out™ and Keep-Out™ are packaged in sealed vials that provide a convenient method of transportation and stocking. The FA101 Combo-Pak contains one Kleer-Out™ packet and one Keep-Out™ block. FA101 Combo-Pak is packaged in a 12 unit master carton. Product is available through limited distribution and is intended for industrial and commercial use.
